[This was my second post on Radio Userland.]
Since several friends have written asking me what a blog is, I’ll explain my understanding of it: Blog is short for weblog, which is just an online journal. Blogging software is supposed to make it quick and easy to post dated entries to your journal, or blog. That’s it.
The “mUsIngs” on my home page are my own, low-tech, HTML version of a blog. What I’m trying out now is the fancier software, specifically a blogging tool called Radio Userland, which I joined through the Salon blogging community. The learning curve has been a little steeper than I’d like, but it’s starting to make sense.
Blogging Tips
Tip #1: Why don’t they just call it a journal, you might be wondering? Well, my guess is that “blog” is way more fun to say.
Tip #2: If you want to read posts in order, read from the bottom up. Blogs offer the most recent post first, which may be confusing.
Tip #3: YOU CAN RESPOND to any of my posts by clicking on the little “comments” link. Nifty, huh?
Tell me what you think!
