I am so excited, if a bit overwhelmed. This Friday and Saturday, the Montana Festival of the Book takes place in Missoula. I've been to all four previous bookfests, and I absolutely love it. If you like reading and/or writing, you owe it to yourself to try to attend some of it.
Details from a UM publication:
The fifth annual Montana Festival of the Book will feature more than 80 authors and presenters in nearly 50 free public readings, discussions, exhibits and more. The festival runs through Saturday, Oct. 2, at downtown venues. Highlights include Friday's free showing of the movie "Fight Club" and Saturday's gala reading with authors Chuck Palahniuk, James Lee Burke and Mark Spragg at 7:30 p.m. Both events take place at the Wilma Theatre. A detailed schedule is online.
Sunday is the Dump Bush Rally, billed as the "red state rebellion." This is a locally organized event, with a rally from 2-4 p.m. in Caras Park. Come join us and help throw the bums out!
