Some days are good days. This was one of them.
I slept in. Put away laundry. Went for a walk in Greenough Park, next to the lovely Rattlesnake Creek -- rushing with spring runoff right now. Had a mocha frappe at Liquid Planet, stopped at Safeway, watched Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, had crockpot barbecue chicken for dinner, did some paperwork, and wrote for an hour. It's my new thing: writing for an hour every night. At least an hour. Tonight I worked on a story I hope to publish somewhere. It's yet another piece about Glacial Lake Missoula, this one from the perspective of a time machine. It was my final for my fiction techniques class, and now I'm doing some final revision before querying it.
A good day deserves a good night. So, good night.

"Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" - I hate that show! I watch it every week and even though I know they are totally manipulating me, I cry. I am such a sucker!
You hate it, but you watch it every week? Are you a masochist? :-)
I love the show!

Re: extreme makeover. You're both sadly mistaken!
Egh.
Re: Writing at night--So you're a night writer! Cool. Like George Sand. She wrote in bed, midnight to dawn. Me, I can't string three words together after 3pm, latest.
Sam, what do you mean, we're sadly mistaken? About what?
Please note that we're talking about the Home Edition, not the plastic surgery original.
YES, I am a night writer. I achieve peak clarity and creativity between about 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. Unfortunately, life keeps conspiring to keep me from achieving a consistent schedule. (School, finals last week, Special Olympics this week, readership survey next week .... Does it ever end?)
It’s a love/hate thing for me. Like an accident where you don’t want to look, but you can’t look away. I hate that I am being emotionally manipulated, but I’m always so happy for the family. Or maybe I’m just nuts – that is a real possibility!
Patia, I am totally inspired by you! Writing a WHOLE HOUR everyday. What a concept. I think I should give it a try.
Also, I love Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, too. I loved it more in the beginning though. Now it seems to be a little repetitive to me. Still, how wonderful to see people who need it getting something special.
XOXO
