A Drivel Runs Through It

NOOOooooooooooo!!!
I just received an email headlined:

Start Holiday Shopping Early
at Our Online Outlet Center

It continued:
Hello PATIA,
Savvy shoppers know the secret to wise shopping - do your holiday shopping early! The values are plentiful, the pressure is off, and the savings tremendous.
People! It's freakin' JULY!!!

This email is from Colorful Images, an otherwise great little company for things like personalized stationery and address labels. But -- is nothing sacred? In recent days, I have also seen ads promoting back-to-school specials and fall fashion sneak-peeks.

Summer in Montana is short enough as is. I don't want to be thinking about Christmas in July.

Somewhere in the frozen north, Santa is chuckling with an evil glint in his eye...

We need a five year moratorium on the winter holidays to reset the clocks on the season and build up the excitment again!

I'd like to know people of other countries for friendship. I'm from São Paulo, Brazil! I’m inviting you to know my homepage in portuguese, of course but interesting! Bye

I always like to get most of my Christmas shopping done in the spring and summer when my utilities aren't so high and the selection is not quite so generic.

I like to do a lot of mine at craft fairs and on trips that I wouldn't get the opportunity to do during the traditional shopping season. Anyway, I plan my life around avoiding the crowds of harried shoppers who are there between all the other 'must-do' chores to make their holidays merrily perfect.

I also take great pains not to do yoga at the intersection during rush hour and have been known to do my shopping at four a.m. to avoid the congestion.
