I've wanted to get my upper left ear pierced for, oh, about 20 years. I even bought a pair of Montana yogo sapphire studs four or five years ago; they have yet to be worn. I've been too chicken. I do have my lower lobes pierced, but everyone says that ear cartilage is one of the most painful places and takes months to heal.
Well, after enduring braces and jaw surgery, I finally figure I can handle getting my ears pierced. So today I opened up the Missoula phone book to look up Painless Steel's number. And the first thing I saw was that the upper left corner of the page said, "Ow."

I got my upper ear pierced in college and, seriously, it was just a tad more painful than getting the lobes done. It's truly no big deal at all. When it’s over you’ll say “THIS is what people thought is so painful?” Especially if you have had jaw surgery, this will be a piece of cake! Good luck!
I had mine done when I was 20. It didn't hurt that bad at all.
Cool, thanks for telling me. Yeah, I now realize I can handle a lot more than I thought!
One word of warning: my friend gets her long hair caught in it all the time and it looks kinda kooky:).
I have no idea how she manages it, but the gong show does.
I wondered about that. I'm just hoping it won't drive me nuts.
(Gong show? What do you mean?)
i got mine done in april of last year... it's still healing. :( the worst thing was the training posts. i couldn't wait to be able to put a hoop in because my hair was always getting caught on the post backs.
Oh, I call her gong show. She's insane.
I had mine done too, it hurts at first of course, but not that bad:) I think it's too funny that it's under "OW". :)
I bet it will look really beautiful on you. I look forward to pictures! I always wanted to get one of those done, too, but I am still too chicken.
