Sunday miscellany
Me and my girl
  • Here's the twit that's been keeping me up at night with her midnight mousecapades. She just doesn't understand why I start shrieking when she wants to play with her little mouse friends in my bedroom at three in the morning.
  • As a result, not only have I not been falling asleep until dawn, I woke up yesterday with a wicked kink in my neck. It hurts.
  • How can it possibly be Sunday night?
  • How can it possibly be the middle of July?
  • Why is there nothing good to eat in my kitchen?
  • I want to go back to the beach ....
  • I got saltwater taffy at the beach -- just because I could.
  • I tried to get Milk Duds at the movies Friday night -- just because I could -- but they were out, dammit.
  • I have never enjoyed flossing so much in my life. It's a breeze now that my teeth are straight and the braces are off.
  • I have been spending entirely too much time on Flickr.
  • I love the Internet sooooo much.
  • One of the speakers at Web Design World introduced himself as a "professional blogger." I went up to him afterwards to ask how, exactly, one becomes a professional blogger. He said you have to find a niche and fill it.
  • Anybody got any niches that need filling? (Get your mind out of that gutter!)
  • My niche is not very niche-y. "Fat chick with cats in Montana writes about mouse encounters, adult orthodontics and daily minutiae."
  • Do you believe there is a lid for every pot?
  • Should I break down and get a MySpace page?
  • My fingernails are longer now than they've been in years, thanks to Avon Instant Manicure. Those things rock.
  • If you had all the time in the world, what would you do with it?
  • I'd read. Well, and travel and ride horses and take pictures and do lots of other things. But more than anything, I'd read.

Hey there, I just found your blog via Flickr via the Metal Mouth Message Board over at archwired.com. This thread specifically: http://www.archwired.com/phpbb2/viewtopic.php?t=12231

Exploring your blog has been a treat and I will be checking back regularly.

NO MYSPACE PAGE. NO NO NO NO NO NO!

And lid for every pot? Hmmm. I don't know. But sometimes it's better to keep the lid off so you can let off some steam:).

No, no, no to MySpace but then again, what do I know?

I'm curious as to what you thought of Web Design World. I went last December to Boston.

Hi Carissa, thanks for stopping by and commenting. Glad to hear my braces/surgery album is helpful to people.

OK, Meg, as you are the arbiter of style and good taste, I shall abide. NO MySpace page!

And I don't know about steam, but I am definitely full of hot air. :-)

Rachel, this was my second time at WDW Seattle. I think it's a very good conference. Well-organized, smoothly run and good speakers. I like the overview of subjects and keeping up to date with the latest developments.
