I write to imagine things differently and in imagining things differently perhaps the world will change. I write to honor beauty. I write to correspond with my friends. I write as a daily act of improvisation.
I wish I didn't suck so bad at taking pictures. These Flathead Lake ones have been so awesome. I lived in Ronan for about 5 or 6 years, and spent a lot of time in and on the lake during the summer - like every day. One of the best places on Earth, hands-down.
Having a good camera helps -- I'm so grateful for the advent of digital, as it's so much cheaper than film processing and printing. (I say that as someone who worked in photo labs for seven years, then could barely afford to take pictures anymore once I left the biz.)
Also, I shoot A LOT of frames. The more you shoot, the better the odds of getting one where everything comes together perfectly.
And ... it helps to have some photo-editing skills in a program like Photoshop. I don't typically do much to mine, but small adjustments to contrast, etc., can make a big difference.

Beautiful photograph...
Thank you!
(Not that I'm taking all the credit -- Mother Nature did most of the work!)
But, see, you knew just when to wink at Momma Nature, girl. : ) Gorgeous!

Beautiful!
Thanks, Birdie and Chris.
