So far this morning, I've gotten a Flickr message from a gay man asking if I'm a lesbian, and a Match.com "wink" from a 50-year-old, 5'3" man in a baseball cap and giant aviator glasses.
Depressing.

It will get better...really.
Oh, dear. Do these guys really have to be so peculiar?! I hope that your day gets better. I am, right now, going to force myself out and into the sunshine, no matter how cold.
Thanks, Panda. :-)
Jodi, is it? Where do you live that you have sunshine??? I love your Flickr photos! Thanks for checking out my blog.
What is it about people that think presenting themselves as "goofy" or "whacky" is somehow a good way to getting a foot in the door of the relationship? It just makes me want to stop being a pacifist. I'm getting pissed and I'm not even looking for a date!
Aww, Chris, are you defending my honor? That's so sweet.
I think some people just can't help themselves. But yeah, I sure haven't found any good reasons not to stay home on Saturday night. :-)
It's a combination of your honor and that I hate men who provide fodder for the portrayal of men as BUFFOONS in mass media. I mean, don't the antics of a Paris Hilton or Britney Spears make you want to slap some womanness into them?
Well, yes, I see what you mean.
But actually, I mostly just feel sorry for Paris and Britney, et al. Those girls have had so much so young, and their whole lives exposed for the world to laugh at -- no wonder they're a mess. I wouldn't want to be them for all the money and good looks in the world.
As far as men -- I think every woman gets their share of nutjobs and buffoons. My problem is that that's ALL I get.
I feel your pain. You should see some of the responses I get on OKC!
