Hey Patia, came by for a visit. Your hawk story was touching. Isn't it amazing that a bird can decide that a particiular situation is actually safe enough to let it be?
If I were you I would be honored that your hawk decided you were safe enough to be the witness to its passing. If as your friend said, it was damaged inside, then it probably knew it was in deep shit.

Thank you, Christopher. There is a part of me that believes the hawk let me catch it because it knew I was its best hope of survival. It was very alert and capable of escaping me, but did not.
