ANNOUNCEMENT

Looking for the Ayn Rand story? It's here and here.

Not blogging much these days, but still posting pics and a few thoughts now and then.

The meaning of life is contained in that old Girl Scout axiom of leaving the campsite better than you found it.

Shadow playSixth-generation Californian; lived almost half my life in Montana. Among other places, I’ve called Santa Cruz, San Francisco, Berkeley, Thompson Falls, Whitefish and Missoula home. Now living in the wide-open state of Transition. Hoping to land someplace solid.

I love learning and have many interests, including words, images, art, history, culture, travel and the Internet. I started blogging before it was called blogging — summer 1998, during an online editing internship at the Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel.

I value honesty, integrity and authenticity.

Favorite authors include Barbara Kingsolver, Tom Robbins, Diane Ackerman, Anais Nin, Judy Blunt and John Steinbeck. Favorite movie is “Bull Durham.” Too many kinds of favorite music to list. I’m also a big fan of silence.

Here’s an interview Janet Skeslien Charles recently did with me. Janet is the author of the fabulous novel, “Moonlight in Odessa.” She’s also my former French teacher.
